Who we are

The Eshel Avraham Congregation began its march in June 1976 when the organization began to establish a masorti community in Be’er Sheva.
Today, after 41 years, we have become a traditional, pluralistic and egalitarian
congregation that operates in Be’er Sheva . The community includes about 180 families from the city of Be’er Sheva and its surroundings and provide to about serviced 3,000 people.
The congregation emphasizes values such as equality, pluralism and Zionism.
In the
congregation there is a traditional and egalitarian synagogue in Be’er Sheva, where prayers are held on weekends and holidays and ceremonies are held in all walks of life (Bar/Bat Mitzva and more).
In addition to the traditional activities, members of Eshel Avraham volunteer on a weekly basis for social in Tikun Olam project.

Eshel Avraham operates 8 kindergarten classes, between the ages of 3 months and 6 years,  in a private format under the supervision of the Ministry of Education of Israel, with an emphasis on traditional, value-based and pluralistic experience.
The kindergarten takes care of many varied topics by age and child development; Jewish holidays and the values ​​of love of man and earth.

Noam Masorti Movement

“NOAM” - Traditional Youth is a youth movement that is a pluralistic Jewish community founded by the Masorti Movement.
We promote and advance a society in which yongsters takes responsibility for their future and shape their personal and Jewish identity, with the aim of creating active and caring citizenship that promotes an egalitarian and democratic Israeli society.
“Noam” in Eshel Avraham works in partnership with Kehilat Be’ erot, the boys and girls meet once a week in Eshel Avraham for fun and educational activities.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah Program

The Eshel Avraham congregation has a 3 month course preparing the parents and children for their Bar / Bat Mitzvah Ceremony
The Bnei Mitzvahs meet for about 8 sessions, some of which are group sessions and some are specific for reading Torah and haftara, haftarah, putting on tefillin and more.
The group meetings deal with the study of the Jewish and traditional aspects of the Bar / Bat Mitzvah year, the study of the Bar / Bat Mitzvah and the haftara, symbols, the Jewish bookcase and key figures.
At the end of the study, a tefillin ceremony was held and a ceremony was held on it for an experiential and exciting Torah in which the whole family takes part.​
The goal: to give the population in Beer Sheva the opportunity to understand that there is more than one way to be Jewish.
